WHEN PEOPLE ASK YOU WHAT’S WRONG WITH AMERICA, REFER THEM TO THIS CHART:
Crony capitalism - a capitalist economy in which success in business depends on close relationships between business people and government officials.

"The Indian government worships US economic policy. As a result of 20 years of the free market economy, today, 100 of India’s richest people own assets worth one-fourth of the country’s GDP while more than 80% of the people live on less than 50 cents a day; 250,000 farmers, driven into a spiral of death, have committed suicide. We call this progress, and now think of ourselves as a superpower. Like you, we are well-qualified: we have nuclear bombs and obscene inequality."

U of R Students for a Democratic Society present a free screening of:
“THE CORPORTATION” - Thursday Nov. 17, 7PM, Dewey Hall, Room 1-101.
SDS will be screening ” The Corporation ” this Thursday, November 17th at 7pm in Dewey 1-101 (tunnel level lecture hall w/ green seats). This event is open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the community!
” The Corporation ” is an incredibly well-received documentary that contextualizes corporate involvement in nearly all aspects of socio-political life. After the film, we will discuss the implications of the claims made by the filmmakers, and their relation to the global “occupy’ movement towards social and economic justice.
Please re-post and attend (especially the planning meeting)
